My son’s first birthday was a small intimate gathering. None of the glitter and glam I tend to do these days. That doesn’t make it any less special to me. In fact, it remains one of my most treasured memories. Your first born only turns one once after all; like literally!
I chose this theme because his April birthday fell exactly around Easter-time so it was perfectly appropriate for the season.
I’m looking forward to the opportunity to recreate this theme cause the Saffy of today has sooo many ideas for the old me. Nonetheless, here are some photos from the day.

Entertainment
Entertainment for 1 to 2 year olds was fairly simple. I used this pool as a ball pit and filled it with some rainbow ball pit balls. I bought a slide and placed in the pool. I also bought this pool that comes with a splash pad, attached sprinkler arch and a slide. The kids had a blast wading and splashing. It’s pretty shallow so it was perfect for their age. My son even jumped in fully clothed before we had the chance to change him into his swimwear. It was such a simple and low effort way to entertain the kids.

Party Favours
I don’t have pictures of the party favours and if I’m being honest I’m not quite sure what I did. But like I said I have a ton of ideas so I’ve compiled a list of the cutest things for a one year old birthday. These would make great Easter Basket stuffers as well!
