Birthdays and birthday celebrations are a big deal for me. I’m soo happy to be able to share an extra special connection with my daughter who celebrates her birthday literally just one day before mine. It’s the best gift anybody could ever ask for. I’m so grateful.

Decor

Decor is usually simple for my parties. Usually because I DIY soo much of the various elements, I simply do not have the time. I’ve never been able to outsource a decor team because it’s truly sooo expensive and I would rather spend that money on party favours, food or entertainment for the guests. This is a personal choice. Please don’t come for me.

I bought arch covers that fit the theme and did some simple balloons for a photo area and that’s pretty much it. I also bought this beautiful strawberry vase for the grazing table. It sits on my dining table now. I also added a few of these strawberry shaped favor boxes around the event

Food

Naturally, her first birthday had to be an extravagant soiree. I went all out for the food creating a grazing table where my guests could eat throughout the event without me having to cater to them. I made sure to leave a basket with hand sanitizer because good hygiene is a must!

I had a ton of fresh fruit including a startling amount of strawberries. Because who can throw a strawberry theme party without strawberries??? HELLOOO!! The amuse bouche were all homemade. You can check out the video below to see the entire food prep for the party.

Dessert

Cupcakes, lemon bites, coconut macarons, and apple strudels were the dessert options. I also got themed sugar cookies as these are now a party must have for me. I also had a chocolate fountain with dipping options. Yes, you read that right. I had a chocolate fountain coupled with Oreos, marshmallows and of course, strawberries. DUH!

Cake

Now, I don’t always spend big on a cake but when I do, the budget is obscene. I wish it weren’t so but once I fixate on an idea there’s no stopping me. Listen. I just knew the cake had to be a realistic strawberry. Nothing less was going to to suffice and I am so satisfied with the work of the cake artist. And of course, it was strawberry flavoured as well. Who you know got a whole strawberry for a cake?? Tell me??…I’ll wait!

Outfits

We didn’t do matching outfits but you already know my little diva had to have an outfit change. Both the dress and romper were from amazon so feel free to grab them for your little as well.

Entertainment

A beautiful bounce house, some foam blocks, a rocking horse and a ball pit. The kids had a blast. My son also brought out a few of his ride on toys for him and the boys and they had entirely too much fun the in yard playing all day.

Party Favours

I had both adult and kid party favour boxes. The strawberry shaped boxes were filled with candy for the adults. The kids got a gable box full of goodies as well as the cutest little story book. The book has a 5 star rating and I found it on a list of teacher recommendations. It’s a pretty good read so be sure to check it out. You can watch me assemble and pack the favour items in the video below.

I’ve compiled all the favor box items into a list here so you can check that out if you’re interested.
